Oops!... sticky fingers!
I had a hissy fit moment, when I rested my finger on the canvas near his ear.... I had wet paint on the side of my finger and it stuck to the painting.
After several unsuccessful attempts trying to repairing the damage, I decided a cover up was the only way to fix it...
So the distant mountain seems like a good option... In this photograph, I have created the mountain on the image using Photoshop, just so I could assess it's merit... I think it will look OK.
On the actual painting, I have tweaked the distant foliage a little, to make it look less "sprayed on"..
The grass effect is also being mapped out here.... I was originally going to scratch the grass in with a scalpel blade and tint it... I dropped that idea and I am now hand painting it.. blade by blade - good grief, here we go again with the tiny liner brushes! - I am also using the airbrush to slightly blur the bottom foreground, to give it a better depth of field.
The lower section of the mane is not quite finished in this photograph... it will be blended and darken down where the grass will eventually hided some of it.
I the beginning, I thought this painting would be fairly straight forward, but as it progresses, it has become quite a complex thing to do...
The clock is ticking on the completion date deadline, so I will be doing some long hours on it from here....
It's has been fun though, I now have a better idea on just how far you can push acrylic paints... these Createx Wicked acrylics are awesome.. Cheers

Wonderful painting!

A very calm and reflective painting to me......But also very powerful........

A very good peace of art. I enjoy looking at it and feel at the same time the inner state

of the lion.

Love animal works - always a treat to stare at - thanks
