Hi everyone, I want to draw my own eyes in coloured pencil, but my eyes are a light grey colour. I am unsure how realistic it will look if I colour match the colours 100%. My husband took a photograph for me and I can get the colours very close. (I am practising to do a self-portrait in coloured pencil)

Should I use darker shades, or add more blue or green to get more realism? Any suggestions and tips are most welcome, thank you.

I think if you draw your eyes the colour that they are, it will be 100% realistic. If you think it won't be visually interesting you might use some licence like having some shadow over your eyes etc.

Good luck, I intend to tackle portraits some day..

Thank you, Glen. Since I am still practising, I will start with your suggestion and see how it turns out.
