Here's a little experiment I did last night, using shaving cream, ink and photopaper to make a kinda marble effect :-) It was lots of fun and I love the results!
This is how I did it...I used a shallow tray and covered it completely with shaving cream. I added drops of blue and used a skewer to swirl to create a marble effect. Then I placed a sheet of photo paper on top of it (upside down, so the glossy side was facing down), pressed it gently so the entire surface made contact with the coloured cream and removed it, set it aside to let the ink fix onto the paper. Next I added more colours, one at the time and repeated the process of swirling and pressing and waiting.
The next step was to remove the cream and to do that I used a window squeegee. I found the best way to do that is to let the paper lay flat on the surface and just drag it off and scoop it back into the tray...it was a bit messy and because ink doesn't come off my hands easily I wore rubber gloves.
The last bits of cream I removed with paper towels and a little spray of water.
Soooo, if you are looking for a fun project using cheap materials, I encourage you to try this! :-D
Well and now I have to think about what to do with them!
very cool desiree! Thanks for sharing, it's a great idea:)
Thanx Pat and VC and no problem VC! :-)
Hi Desiree, I did this myself a couple of months ago, it was so very very messy, but heaps of fun, I ended up using my marbled paper in my card making. I am sure you will find a great use for it, thanks for the tutorial, your marbling looks wonderful, all the best
