Hi guys

First off let me say that I'm new to this community, so please excuse me if I have done anything wrong.

Secondly: This is a fan poster for a Channel 4 tv series (found here: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/utopia) ; as such I hold no copyright over the name (UTOPIA), the quote (where is Jessica Hyde?), or the concept of Mr Rabbit. But the design (layout and character) and artwork is all my own.

OK, with that out the way, lets get strait to business. This a mixed media artwork, in that it was made using traditional and digital media/techniques; this is a technique I would like to use more often, so I would really appreciate any feedback you can give me.

In this particular example I drew the main sketch using charcoal, then I photographed it (couldn't find my scanner), and then I edited it digitally. The digital side of the artwork included the colouring, Some contrast adjustment, and the text.

Thanks for taking a look.

William.

Alright, I'm a new guy here as well and I'll take a crack at it. The character placement  is good in the smoky/bloody background. I like the style but feel that maybe you could have taken more time to make the character more anatomically correct for example his right arm is longer than is left (but he is  a monster so what the hell do I know about monster anatomy). I think that if you would have used the sampling tool in photo shop and pulled one of the colors from the background that would have worked better for your letters. Other than that it is a nice piece keep up the good work!

Thanks for the feedback.

I agree with most of what you said (this was a fairly quick piece, hence the arm problem); however, the text colour is intentionally slightly jarring, as this was a feature of the show's style.

PS. welcome to the community
