Hello and Welcome to the Abstract Art Group!
If you would like to share your abstract art, you can either post in the Show & Tell thread or start your own discussion by scrolling down and clicking on the big blue button that says "Add a Discussion". You will likely get more views and replies if you start your own discussion.
Click here to learn how to upload images into your forum posts (which is important so that people can see your art within the post, rather than as an attachment link beneath your post).
If you would like some advice on a specific work-in-progress, you can either post in the WIP thread or start your own discussion. You will likely get more views and replies if you start your own discussion.
If you'd like to share your step-by-step process to create a finished piece, that would be great too!

This is the largest abstract that I've done and I just love it to pieces its on a 24x36 canvas and I used Heavy gloss gel, semi gloss gel, coarse pumice gel,and flexible modeling paste. I used GOLDEN fluid acrylics , and this type of paint is ideal for this application its already very runny , but it has the highest pigment…READ MORE
For years I struggled with watercolor painting. I had a lot of successes and, of course, a lot of practice pieces. The practice pieces were not "failures" as every painting was an experiment or experience that preceded the next one. But I was chasing a standard and expectation of what a good watercolor painting should be: loose, spontaneous, fluid, and transparent and seemingly always with a recognizable subject. Attention to detail (seemingly nearly the opposite to loose and spontaneous)…READ MORE
In the three attachments: the first image is 1977 " ESTUARIES" It is made from Berol Prismacolor Pencils. I created the original image in '77 but intensified the colors in 2014.The second image is 1979 "COSMIC CATHEDRAL" 18" X 18" - It is needlepoint on plastic "canvas" (One of 8 same-size images, plus two 18" X 36" images). And the third is 2013 "REYNARD" 11" X 14" - It is also Berol Prismacolor Pencils on paper. With most of my abstracts ( of all persuasions ), I start in a corner with a color…READ MORE

I have been trying to master the technique of swirling acrylic colour around in the canvas like marbling without success. I have tried acrylic with flow medium and inks with flow medium but they either do not flow the way I would like or they lose their marbling effect after drying out. Some have dried with ugly blobs of colour which I didn't want.At this point I do not have any successful fluid art to show so I have not added any. Does anyone have any tips or suggestin ?READ MORE

This is my first ever abstract , after being confused as to what to paint,I was tweaked by a friend who suggested I should try an abstract ,I gladly obliged. My first attempt left me confused , frustrated and annoyed at my seemingly lack of creativity. I repainted the canvas and turned it into my Jumpled Elephant painting.A new canvas and with a fresh mind , I thought of nothing but how I was feeling , I mixed up colors with my hands and used my fingers instead of brushes , I splattered gold…READ MORE
