Hi!  I'm looking for a good quality watercolour  paper that will work with watercolour pencil  and still be wettable  with watercolour or acrylic washes, without buckling,  for doing backgrounds.  Can anyone give me  any suggestions?    The 140 lb. paper I have been using isn't heavy enough.

Hi Eleanor, ill be following this post as im also finding it difficult to get a decent paper for watercolour! My Venus sketch pads do a better job with watercolour than my water colour pad!

Have you tried stretching your watercolor paper?  It will make a huge difference.  Check it out here  http://www.winsornewton.com/uk/discover/tips-and-techniques/for-wat...

here's another one too    http://lauraposs.blogspot.com/2010/02/how-to-stretch-watercolor-pap...
