So I've been trying to sketch places around my life. Does anyone have any tips? I have a hard time drawing fast and always feel the need to sit down and work on a piece for a long time, which makes sketching hard...

Hi , Estar. I do a lot of quick sketches. I begin by establishing a format; square or rectangle. Then I identify a leading vertical edge within my view and place it proportionally within the format. This edge then doubles as a rule and a reference angle for positioning all subsequent lines. It's a bit like doing a cryptic crossword. Each clue you answer provides reference points for the next clue. The discipline is to only draw lines that you are confident are correct. Best regards, Ian.
