Ok I don't have any art to show because I'm not sure how to go about this lol

Probably because i've been forced inside a box, i find it hard to think outside the box without it coming out like scribbles or a 5 year old's art piece. I desperately want to break into this whimsical/surreal artwork.. I have a few ideas sketched down but I need to work on thinking outside of this horrible art box.

And when I show people the ideas (at school usually) I get "ok but what's the meaning behind it?" and I freeze and think it's horrible? Too much thought lol. Anyway, any tips for someone who's used to doing things somewhat by the book? ;;
