I love love love whimsical too but somehow my art doesnt read "typical" whimsical....I love adding details that I think is whimsical but overall, my art doesnt scream whimsical....its more like "different" and "unique"....LOL...wlhat do you think are the elements that make it whimsical besides colour?

This is beautiful, I love it!

OK so I dont see any black outlines....how do you do it....I tried just pencil and then colouring it but it was so difficult....I needed those black outlines....lol...I think too its becoz I have so many pencil marks but I will make up for it with my black liner and just trace over the lines I want and then erase the others I dont need....

Thanks for sharing your process Chris....

The first time I learned about the english word whimsical .... through art pictures like the one shown at the

top of this group...kind of funny fairy pictures... it means funny and strange. One of my books is called

"The art of whimpsical handlettering" ... funny, happy handlettering .

Nelson I think your work would fit here. May be I should make one too. I love happy pictures . They bring

light in every persons day.

LOL Hilla....where can we find your book?....i remember doing tangles way way back but never knew there was a name for that kind of art....

"The Art of Whimsical Lettering" is a book from Joanne Sharpe. The only stuff I will write is a fairy tale and

I plan to paint the pictures myself. Today I looked up the pictures of a lot of whimpsical houses, because houses

are my topic for this month. I kind of wonder what inspiration will hit me soon.
