I am going to have to give up my addiction to painting Japanese prints and paint something original...

Paul, I guess the issue is that painting copies of prints is fun - and good to develop my handling of watercolours (good practice) but its not the same as looking at a scene (or reference photo) and developing a drawing and a colour and tone scheme for an original painting. I need to do more of that, is what I meant.
