Which paper would be better to use with watercolour pencil  - with water used, along with pen & ink work added - hot pressed or cold pressed?   And which brands do you suggest?  READ MORE

"Have you tried stretching your watercolor paper?  It will make a huge difference.  Check it out here  http://www.winsornewton.com/uk/discover/tips-and-techniques/for-water-colour/stretching-water-colour-paper"

"Hi Eleanor, ill be following this post as im also finding it difficult to get a decent paper for watercolour! My Venus sketch pads do a better job with watercolour than my water colour pad!"

Watercolour paper suitable for watercolour pencil

Hi!  I'm looking for a good quality watercolour  paper that will work with watercolour pencil  and still be wettable  with watercolour or acrylic washes, without buckling,  for doing backgrounds.  Can anyone give me  any suggestions?    The 140 lb. paper I have been using isn't heavy enough.See More

Thank you for your kind comment!  When you paint with spray paint you need to use the shiny side of poster board to be able to keep the spray paint wet so you can play with it.  I layered on the colors I wanted and then scraped the flower image out.  You have to work very quickly with spray paint and forget about manicured nails!  I'm attempting to attach a you tube video to this comment, if it works, note how quickly this guy moves and how his hands are covered with spray paint.  And no, I didn't finish my piece off with flames!!  :)
