Remember to buy the best pastels you can afford!  Buying cheapies will make your work look cheap for sure.  My favorites are "Rembrandt" and "Unison" - both can be found at Dick Blick, which you can…READ MORE

Hi Jenifer, please do not be concerned on my behalf although I appreciate your caring that I may be offended I appreciate it.   Sometimes life gets in the way of keeping up with comments posted.   I am pleased that you think my comments were valid.  Whist I am on the subject of commenting I have had a browse through your artwork and I like every one I would be hard put to it to pick a favourite.  I have not been painting very much of late - that thing called life keeps getting in the way.

Regards,

Dorothy

I keep look at buying some quality brushes mine are mostly cheaper things.. I 've been gradually  buying better stuff since I started  painting. I only started painting just over two years ago and only did my first watercolour last year

I have used w&n 300gsm paper for a lot of my work.  l thek  notice someone selling 450gsm  50 x 65 cm sheets of watercolour paper. at a very silly price  and that paper is great to work with,  for  some reason they keep putting it up at this cheap price so I've ordered another 30 sheets of it.

I use watercolours  because I'm  not keen on using  acrylic on paper , I've tried lots of brands of paper but tend to overwork the paper which stretches and buckles it. My preference  is acrylic on canvas but I limit myself on  using canvases as i have  close to a hundred blocking up all the storage indoors
