Outstanding, Wayne!! Thank you for the Mandela drawing. And all your others as well. Portraits make me hyperventilate. Not to look at them. But to attempt drawing them. LOL. Your work looks effortless. :-)

Hello Wayne, patience, well if you draw fast I would say that's o.k as long as your not cutting corners. something I started to do so now I just sit relax and study the subject for at least four minutes, it has my full attention as you take it apart mentally I do the same thing with my blank canvas but imagine the subject on it, not easy at first but you do end up engrossed in the art,as for skin colour,I to have this difficulty but I use a basic colour (napels yellow) and for different tones then never the same reds, or browns or whatever and there is always the hint of blue or green for some shadows But do bear in mind advice and we do need it is like a meadow of wild flowers, youpick what you need, no more, and leave the rest. sorry it's a bit long winded just hope it helps.

Hey Wayne getting right tones of color for portraits is the hardest part of painting. As you can see I paint from pictures, so I to mix colors just the way its on the picture.

soz to sound confusing. What I meant was:- I always do a drawing first and if I paint it with the wrong colours or shading, it will spoil a carefully drawn portrait. Thankyou for your advice Wayne.

Hi there. This is a picture of me painting a Chinese silk scarf many moons ago. Once it was finished, washed and ironed it looked very nice indeed...even if I say so myself. This took me a couple of days to complete and the colors are very vibrant...hope you all… READ MORE
