Last year, my husband and I decided it was time to live out our dream of exploring the world.

My mother turned 90 just recently. After much thought on what to get her the obvious struck me - paint a painting for her. And so too was the subject matter = the things she loves most - us kids. Weell we are not kids so much as very mature adults now :) My sister and me that is.
Anyway, it was a struggle to make that painting and frankly I am not sure it is right even now.

A customer has asked me to create a Carved Snakewalking cane and mount a 3" glass ball to the top of the stick. Looks like I will need to drill the glass ball with a special drill bit, made to drill glass.

Soooo I haven't painted in an eon or two. Other than using my paintbrushes for cake designs and other crafty doodlings, nothing serious has been happening.

I have been painting with acrylics for the last three years and always had a hard time with clouds and water.......also of the paint darkening too much. So I had some oil paints I bought on a whim a year ago, I tried them and didn't like the drying time so I put them back in the box.
