I've been playing a lot with the color black this month. So what's up with that?

Well... I'm making a new start on my "artist's journey", and black is the color of the proverbial "blank slate". I think it symbolizes a new beginning for me. It's like an unspoken question: "What's out there?" Or maybe it's a veil, waiting to be brushed back and reveal whatever's waiting behind it. It's an expression of anticipation, of curiosity, and a statement that I am taking that next bold step out into the unknown. I don't know what's waiting for me out there, but I am eager to discover it.

There could be pleasure, pain, or healing. I expect there will be a mixture of all of them. Who knows -- I might discover some emotion or other thing that I've not yet experienced. The only way to find out is to brush past that veil and see for myself what lies there concealed.

And so I take the next step on my path.
