Hi here is a little run down on me.

I am retired and have just started to take an interest in art. I can't draw a straight line basically but I went on a short course and that tingled my taste buds for the art wordl. I know I will never be good but I just enjoy trying.

I have joined this group as I like what I see on here. I am a complete starter but I will keep at it. I do not as yet spend to much time with my paints but I plan to change that this year.

I have done a few paintings and I am proud in what I have done so far.

For me it can only get better (Hopefully) So I will publish as I go.

I live in the UK and near the cost and would love to be able to paint what I see around me but I do not have the confidence as yet or the courage so I copy pictures to the best of my ability.

Well here we are a little down the line now and I feel more confident now and will have a go at anything as usual not the greatest artist in the world but happy doing what I do. I have actually sold a few.....that astounded me.....but it gave me a thrill I must say as I never planned to sell as I never dreamed that anything I painted would appeal but just goes to show what I know.

This Art Colony has lifted my confidence every like and comment means s  much to us all I feel.

So this lady is one happy lady all round.

Welcome here Suz. Wonderful to see how people grow as they learn to draw and paint. I love your harbour scene Suz - please try some more like that. It is simply lovely and I believe it is the best of your work - but then I am terribly biased towards landscape drawing and colouring!

Thank you so much......Gordon M ........I seem to love vivid colour and funky out the box stuff for some reason. I am trying as a learner to do a little of everything. You are right of course and I will get to the scenes but not confident enough yet. I am testing the water at the moment but only managed to get the tip of my big toe in at the moment.....lol.....I look forward to the day that I am capable of placing my whole foot in. Once again thanlk you very much for your kind words.

Don't say you won't be any good.  when I started painting everything looked like cartoons.   Well I'm not Van Gogh  but I do better now.  I taught myself by reading about techniques and art  history.  I enjoy painting and,  not trying to sell.     My friend and family steal my stuff off my walls and I let them. If you  watch Utube, there are many artists who show how to do all kinds of painting from landscapes to animals etc. I'm sure you will improve since you are sincere.  Good luck.
