thank you, Nelson, for your comment on my pond much appreciate, it takes practice with pastel if you don't mind getting messy there great just keep some wet ones to wipe your hands to keep your work clean
Hi Nelson, I don't have any special techniques. Layering different colours and light pressure are the most important in my opinion. I don't very often use a single colour to achieve the colour I want. I blend using a piece of felt, a cotton bud or a blending pencil. I very rarely use solvents. I apply the pencils using circular, oval, straight and crosshatch methods. I am sure the puriste would shudder seeing me work, I am not one for convention and I used to like to experiment.
