Wouldn't it be neat to use a pen to draw in the air and create a 3D sculpture? It's possible! A company called WobbleWorks has created "the world's first 3D printing pen". You can read an overview here in this CNN article: http://whatsnext.blogs.cnn.com/2013/02/21/a-3-d-pen-that-lets-you-d...

WobbleWorks launched a Kickstarter campaign 3.5 weeks ago, with the goal of raising $30,000. So far they've raised an impressive $2.1million. It just shows how exciting people are about the possibilities of a 3D printing pen.

Would you use a 3D printing pen? While I think it would be a fun novelty I can't personally think of how I'd use it, as I'm mainly a 2D artist. But it's awesome to see how technology is evolving to make products like this affordable to consumers.

Just saw this post :)

hehe I am one of those backers...  :p
I did get fascinated with the prospect of this gadget. It is right, I am a 2D artist, but sometimes there would be some commissions or I would get this strange idea of using thin strings of molten plastic.
My mind did run havoc for a while with all these strange and creative ideas of how one could use the 3Doodler :)
