I am having some issues with "outling" on canvas. I've gessoed the canvas. The picture has been painted, and now I'm trying to outline. But i can never get a smooth line! The little holes from the canvas show through and I have to go over & over the line. Are there any techniques for a smoooooth line? Please help,

Sherry how many layers of gesso did you use?

I have four layers! But I read a tip by someone who suggested synthetic brushes. So I ran to Michaels and bought one. And you know what? IT WORKED!. The brush is stiffer than natural or hog hair brissels. It was so much easier to paint a solid smooth line!

If you have another tip though, I'd really love to hear...
