This painting is done on reused washed watercolor 150 lb paper. I washed in 3 colors first and washed the paper in a pool of water until it was very faded. After it was almost dry with pastels I drew in a dancer. I then added a bit of charcoal highlights. When the paper was completely dry I used again pastels to draw in the  a plume head dress..... Then watered down acrylics were applied in very thin layers over the pastel.  When dry I once again used pastels for high light.

You will find that I am never conventional about how nor how I sign my work.  I never knew that one should be.  In an earlier blog I had said that I am self taught.  I guess that shoes for sure now.  I always think of my work being mine and so I could treat is mine.

This particular piece has been sold in numbered copies 4 times.

I have never been in a show. However as of late I do have about 20 paintings in a local gallery of friends.

I hope you enjoy this work. Thank you Novella

I love the colors used.  Very lovely. Though it does remind me a lot of a flower as well.

Nice Novella!
