I'm thinking of getting a drawing tablet where you draw direcly onto the screen..

i have been thinking of a cintiq 22 hd..but they are quite expensive, and as a hobbyist it might be overkill..

i have also looked abit on budget versions like the Yiynova mp19u (something like that).

the thing about the Yiynova that i may not like is that it's very glassy and not like paper at all.. sinc ei only have drawn traditionally so far.

the cintiq seems more like a quality product overall..but is so expensive..

any one used these products and can give good feedback?

Hi Mika,

I'd be interested in hearing about people's experiences with Cintiq too. We have a Digital Art Group, so you might get a more targeted response if you ask your question here: http://community.art-is-fun.com/group/digitalart

The Cintiq 22 looks like an amazing tool... but so expensive, as you say!

I've started getting into digital art ever since I heard about the Procreate app on the iPad. The iPad is a fantastic tool for making digital art, but someday, when I'm ready, I might like to try something more robust like a Cintiq.

I'm also considering at some point getting a convertible laptop such as the Sony Vaio Duo 13 which I read about in a digital art magazine. It comes installed with ArtRage. Then you've got a laptop and drawing tablet all in one relatively lightweight device. Here are some links in case anyone's interested:

In the next year or so I'll need to get a new laptop so it will be interesting to see what's available then, in terms of touchscreen ultrabooks. My current laptop is huge, clunky and heavy so I'm looking forward to an upgrade. :)

Anyway I'll be interested to hear what you end up getting. Good luck!

thx for tip on the digital art group..

i'm always afraid when i buy something expensive, and then 2 weeks later something alot better comes out..hehe
