The giveaway has ended.

Thank you to everyone who participated!

Congrats to our winners:

Joanie Pittman

and

Brenda Stetler!!

The Art Colony is pleased to offer you a chance to

win a free copy of

Draw Groovy

a 64-page book by Thaneeya McArdle (yeah that's me)! This fun book is filled with easy step-by-step lessons that show you how to draw colorful whimsical art such as owls, cats, mandalas, paisley, butterflies and more!

Draw Groovy was written with kids in mind, so it would be a perfect gift for a budding young artist! Teens and adults might enjoy the book too, particularly beginning artists who want to learn to draw cute colorful art filled with shapes and patterns.

For a detailed look at Draw Groovy, I encourage you to check out my overview of Draw Groovy on Art-is-Fun.com, where you will find images of the lessons in this book, and learn more about what this inspiring book contains.

WOW!! Talk about a flash from the past!! How I would love to win the books to teach my grand-kids the freedom and groovy art! My gr-son is into drawing and would truly enjoy it, the other two are still young but you are never to young to learn!! :)

Oh what a delightful booK!  I want to win so I can see how to do that kitty on the cover AND I would add my new images to my journal pages!

Kitty

I would like to win for my 10 year old grand-daughter who shows that she has great talent as an artist and the book would give her more tops to developer artistic talents.

I would have so much fun with this book because I teach arts and crafts at a Park & Recreation Center near my home. The kids would love the bright colors and whimsical designs and drawings. I would also create a craft project for the Girl Scouts and incorporate it into a way to earn a badge. This would be a BIG HIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barbara Rice

I immediately fell in love with the style of the drawings - I work as OT and art therapist  in a clinic for children and would love to show my little cancer patients that drawing can be soo easy and pure fun! So they can draw their individual power animal to help them get through all the stress ahead..

Would love to get win a copy of this book and show my 4 grandchildren how easy it is to draw such colorful whimsical animals and things!  Art is beautiful.........and so is this book!

I would like to win this book because this is my type of art - fun, colorful, and lively! I hope you can give me the chance to have this book. :)

I would draw peace signs until I couldn't draw anymore.  I'm a left over hippie at heart :-)

My niece would love this!!

I was born in 1961 and grew up in the era of the true "Hippies". However, by the time I was a teen it was the '70's and Disco was in and Flower Power was out. '60's era art has always been one of my favorite subject matters to illustrate and I usually doodle/draw the exact type of work that is in this book and then color or paint it as a way of relaxing and taking a break from my oil painting. Having this book would make it even more therapeutic for me because I wouldn't have to think up designs to add color to, all I would have to do is replicate what Ms. McArdle has already beautifully created!

Love the whimsy! Looks like fun. I'd love to share with my 7 year old grandson!

I would love to win a copy of this book because I've kind of gotten into the habit of collecting art books - technique books, how-to-draws, DIYs, etc. I love to see some variety in my collection because I believe it reflects in my own works so this book would be a perfect addition.

Most certainly I would create something whimsical with the book's lessons - probably some lighthearted, simple watercolors with ink lines over in cutesy shapes of colorful little owls and cartoony mushroom houses. I can already see them in my head... Adorably detailed and colorful, perfect for an art room or kids' room or classroom, maybe even on crafty projects such as homemade placemats. I would very much love to win a copy of this book!

What I would like to use this book to create is... some quality time with my baby girl. Well, actually she will be 10 in just a few quick months. She loves all things art and/or craft related. We have had one traumatic event after another for about the last five years. The latest was the death of my grandmother, very unexpectedly, followed by the death of a close family friend on the first. Art has become a coping skill, a way to spend quality time together, both learning and teaching one another, and so much more.
