Lee Hammond's Lifelike Drawing DVD
- an 83-minute video workshop that demonstrates techniques for creating lifelike drawings in pencil. In this video, Lee Hammond shows you the steps to drawing a simple vase, a furry dog, a layered rose and a textured pineapple.
To get an idea of the type of art that is demonstrated in this video, check out the drawings on the DVD's cover (shown below).
For this giveaway, we have TWO brand-new DVDs to give away to TWO lucky winners! Both DVDs are unopened and in their original packaging. This DVD works in all regions.
I would love to win the DVD because I have no artistic talent whatsoever. I challenge it to teach me to produce realistic drawings! If it succeeds then Lee will become the ultimate heroine (even above Wilma Flintstone).
This is an awesome giveaway! This would really be a great guide for me on how to draw properly. I'm planning to create portraits of my pets after viewing the contents of the CD. I'd also like to do some digital art once I learn the basic steps in drawing so this would really be helpful for me. It would be awesome if I can be one of the two lucky winners. Thanks! :)
I need all the help I can get to achieve beautiful works of art.
I'd definitely be trying the projects in the DVD because I like Lee Hammond's drawing style. I already have one of her books and enjoyed it very much, also I've seen some of her previous videos on Artist's Network TV. She's an excellent video teacher! I'm not a beginner but I found her lessons were useful because they refreshed me in the basics and gave me new techniques. She uses some short cuts that I'd never thought of when I taught myself realistic drawing. As a result, her drawings were simpler, livelier and more effective than my painstaking slow graphite method - and my quick sketches became tons more accurate after working through her book.
My realistic pencil drawings used to be stiff and awkward, suffer from composition problems and poor emphasis. I look forward to improving again with this DVD.
Seeing the way her hand moves, how she holds the tools and works is the other half of learning. Books teach a lot but when you can watch the teacher work, there's a lot of information it's almost impossible to get from the narration. This is also a good reason to watch videos multiple times. The first time when the narration's new, the lesson's clear and unless you need to review difficult parts, you'll more or less get that. But when you watch a master draw, all the lessons she didn't put in that lesson are there embedded in it too. That's also the great advantage to owning the DVD instead of just viewing the lesson online, being able to go back to it and page into it while working later on if you run into a problem or just want some inspiration.
I've seen the pineapple piece before somewhere and it was gorgeous - a very difficult fruit compared to the pears, apples and oranges I'm used to drawing.
I am always trying to improve my drawing skills. For me, drwaings are the absolute base for any type of art. Lee's art instruction style is great... everything you need to know.
What a treat to have a DVD that actually has someone teaching in your home. I don't have many art classes in my area and this would truly help me advance my basic skills. I would use this item to draw all the things I have cherished in my life and wanted to remember through art. Thanks for this awesome opportunity.
I love drawing animals and would like my drawings to be more realistic and life-like. If I could ever get my drawings to look like the reference I use, I would be most happy... not to be able to just copy, but to render a drawing that could be a portrait of the specific animal.
I would watch it first and see if it's appropriate for Elementary school.
I would practice what I learn & then watch it with a select group of students who are interested in drawing better.
Art Club, maybe?
I don't have one yet, but I'm planning on starting one at my school.
I would love to win these DVDs as I really need to improve my drawing which believe me needs all the help I can get !!
My mum found an old lovely photo of her mum (my nan) who died many years ago, so mum asked me to draw this photo so she could hang it the living room to remind her about the good times she had with her. So i want to do it justice in drawing this photo, so having the Lee Hammond's DVD, i would be able to follow the instructions step by step and at a slow pace so i can produce a drawing for my mum that she would be proud off. I have tried this drawing a few times before but it still has not come out the way i wanted it too. So having this DVD would help me tremendously.
My son's dog Maggie recently had to be put to sleep. She was very old and could not walk. Before she passed on, they brought a new puppy in the home, Zoe, who now is 6 months old. We took pictures of the two of them together and i thought it would be nice if i painted a portrait of the two pets for my granddaughter, who is 9-1/2. I had painted Maggie many years ago, but i never was able to capture her expression, the look in her eyes or those special features that your pet has. I feel this DVD could help me in this endeavor. Thank you for your consideration.
