Question for you oil painters:  I tried working in this medium, but it just wasn't my thing.  I have canvasses that I'm thinking I could reuse, with acrylics or pastels.  Would gesso cover an oil painting so that I could try again with another medium?

not really, no.  It will eventually ake or peel off because it's thin over fat.  If u sand it you could use pastels without gessoing it

Ah - I see.  Thanks so much for that info.  ~~the sanding, then pastels, sounds like a good path to try!  :-)s
