turn it upside down

I think abstract art definitely can express emotion, but not necessarily. Sometimes it's an expression of movement or representative of something in nature or otherwise. A lot of times one piece will mean something to one person and another to someone else. It's hard for me to put words to how I feel when I view most abstract works. It's usually just a feeling of whether or not I like it and the reasons why i like one piece may be totally different from why i like another one.

All of that being said...there is no "perfect" when it comes to abstract art. It is, at it's very essence an imperfect art. If it feels like you have to force it, then you're missing out on the free feeling that this kind of art allows.

This is really beautiful though. I love your color choices and the texture.

Hi Gina, I think this painting carries a lot of emotion, so you've done well in that department!  Your colors and composition are quite beautiful.  I like how the painting has white primarily at the top and black primarily at the bottom, with other colors added in, uniting the top half and bottom half.  I find it quite elegant.  I also like the thin red lines swooping over the white parts at the top.

How big is this painting?
