Welcome to the monthly theme for February. Artwork and comments welcome from everyone!!!!

This month's theme is - Zen-sational
 (suggested by Nelson Failing)

This theme is a combination of 2 words: Zen and sensational, so whatever those two words combined inspire in you.

Here's how Nelson describes this theme: "I see zentangles gone wild, intricate, whimsical, beautiful, charming, fantasy and whatever is in your head to create a zentangle masterpiece...tangles within animal, people, flower, abstract shapes...creating stunning zentangle art pieces...your imagination is the limit..."

The theme is open to all artists whatever your medium.

Please post your finished artwork in this discussion thread.

These should be new pieces completed with this theme in mind.

Please remember to use the picture icon above text box to add images and not the attachment below. Click here for instructions on how to add an image to your forum post. This is important if you want people to be able to see your artwork!

To add your artwork, please use the "Reply to Discussion" box at the bottom of the page, NOT the "+ Add" button at the top of the page. (Otherwise your artwork will not show up in this thread.)

If you want to comment on someone's submission please do so here.

I can't wait to see how you interpret this - abstract, realistic, collage etc... so many opportunities for all.

I'm new to the community but wanted to join in this month's theme before it's over. Here's my go with the "zentangle"

Welcome to TAC ! This is great,Carissa !! Love the smile . It makes me smile. Well done.

I like the "tweeked" background.  Love the color contrast with the black and white.

Micron pen and watercolor 9"x12":

When I discovered zentangles it was through a search for art therapy styled lesson ideas over four years ago now.  I found that the repetition of line, shape, pattern, and flow was relaxing.  Originally the images did not have to look like anything but over time I saw different zentangles with images of the world incorporated.  I created the above image, because I find water washing over me relaxing and wanted to combine the two relaxing elements.

However, I think I could have included more patterns and or changed the color or no color.  The color seems to be throwing the image for me.  I may redo the image in the future for my own satisfaction.

Enjoy the response to the challenge.  I have been enjoy inspiration from everyone else's image.

Audrey

On the last day of February...:-) This is my contribution to the theme of the month...

I focussed more on the 'ZEN'- part of the word Zen-sational and the piece is called: Zen-tangible.

Thank you all for inspiring me and Nelz in special for bringing up the subject!
