You asked for it(or at least several of you did LOL), our next “In the Style of” master is Russian Abstract artist Vasily Kandinsky. A friend recommended using him as one of our artists before I started my list but I didn’t recognize the name…. until I looked at some of his paintings. Then BAM! I realized his paintings were some of my favorites from an Art History course I took a million years ago.
He is commonly known for his colorful paintings of shapes and free flowing lines (a style he developed after WWI and very different from his early art). He established two groups of works/kinds of painting –Compositions and Improvisations. The title Compositions implies that the arrangements of geometric shapes used were purposely planned and ordered. The Improvisations, on the other, hand were completely the opposite, being totally unplanned and prompted on by subconscious feeling. He completely eliminated the real subject matter of his works by focusing entirely on the “emotional and psychological” properties of color, line, and shape. He thought the artist’s true self could be expressed entirely by color.

Wonderful Bill!
LOL Susanne, I won't take any points off this time, but next time...... =P Besides, they look great! I'm sure Amanda and Hema will love them.
I received my new Kandinsky's from Dabau today. They are wonderful...have I told you guys and gals that this trade has been my favorite enough times yet?!?!? Thank you so much Dabau, I love them! She also sent a bookmark, a little guy and a snowman (that I sent her) that she glittered and jeweled. So much fun!
These are WonDerFul! I especially like the second one, it gives me the impression of a horse standing in the wind. Well done Dabau!!!
I agree with Stacy,These are fabulous ! Dabau !!
I am so happy that you like my Kandinsky style atc, looking at it I know I will make some more. The vibrant colours really make me happy. Because I didn't have black fineliners, mine run out of ink, I had to use black paint and a thin brush. And with just being able to use my left hand...I really did have a hard time to get nice outlines.
I loved using some left over parts from finished backgrounds I made for my Tiny Junk Journals, they were the best start to these. Thank you Susanne for showing, I forgot how bright and colourful the atc was ^_^.
BTW, I am allowed to use my wrist again, even it is for just one hour a day. So hopefully I am back in no time, maybe not 100% but I can start to create art again.

Just before the New Year I checked my post box and I had artwork waiting for me to discover from two TAC members ;D This first one is from Riya Melgert and I LOVE it! This gorgeous little piece has lots of yummy texture to it, metallic shine and brilliance of colours. Riya, said she had a little trouble making this atc but it sure doesn't look like it! As well, Riya sent me a background atc ready to use. I love these little gifts! I place them right beside my chair in the livingroom in case I want to do some art while I'm relaxing at the end of the day. Thank you so much Riya for your gift of art!
I am happy that you too like the Kandinsky style atc I made. I just love the bright colours and the fun background, a small left over piece from a background for one of my Tiny Junk Journals, I have to make some new ones, mine are all gone!!
