how do I know if I am good enough to exhibit in the market? I mean, I may think I'm really good and my friend  would also consider my work great but how would I know if I would sell or that I should now be ready to exhibit my stuff. Basically I want to know where do I start?

I'm in a similar situation. I have only been doing my artwork a few months and mainly using pencil, graphite and colored, and some watercolor pencil and ink. I don't know if there is a market for these types OR mainly if my work is good enough. When will I know if I'm ready and "qualified"?

Make a website! I called people and they could look at my art online.

Everyone lays down a line differently, people paint their srtrokes with their emotions all their own, art is produced by artists and we all have our own style. Enter your market with your heart you shall do well.
