Hi everyone, I am new to the art colony and am loving it so far, I wanted to create an abstract deep meaning discussion because most of my abstract have deep meaning and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Therefore here it is and one of my deep meaning abstracts.I hope my fellow artists will contribute and share.

Welcome and nice work Aftab!

Hi Aftab Yusuf and welcome. I am also an abstract artist and letting the painting flow thru me is how I paint. If I think about it the paintings look stiff and they look like I "thought' about. I do not know how else to explain what and how I do it. The art comes from deep within me that I know. Good luck with your art.

Thank you so much for sharing, I know exactly what you mean, my abstract art also comes deep within, sometimes I would sketch about anything for example a clock then I think about time, like how it has passed, how others never enjoyed it or how others want too much of it ...then I just draw a theme that represent immortality for example. However in the end many people have their own view when they see your art, how and why they do this is because it affects them, or they have really felt the meaning, I try to make my abstracts easy for me because others can find their own meaning in it, it's actually how they see it

I agree. I'm relatively new to abstract painting and even newer to this site. The only kind of thinking I seem to do (consciously) is selecting colors. I pick a color for the background and brush it on canvas paper. Then I pick the main colors and paint small swatches on the background to test my choices. I'll add color later too and go back to my tester paper again. But that's not really what you asked. I have a general idea of what to paint by the time I've selected my colors. More often than not I change directions in the middle of painting....what I painted already sparks an idea. I really don't aim for meaning. I take pictures of my paintings to my weekly art group and solicit titles. I'm always pleased with the different points of view expressed. Judy
