Sometimes I use CS6, sometimes Painter 2015 and occasionally I utilize other art programs..especially for the watercolor papers.  This is from scratch .. blank image (white) and then the clouds are placed on separate layers and I work forward, just like I would with a traditional watercolor or oil .. with each thing on it's own layer so that I can easily remove things that I'm not happy with.  Got into digital art with Paint Shop Pro 5 .. a long time ago .. pretty much moved back out of it, back to traditional about a year ago and mainly, use it to work out problems with my traditional paintings.  I'll scan my painting (or photo it) and then make color changes, additions, etc. digitally .. working out a lot of the traditional problems in the computer .. makes it easier in the real world. For this work, no reference was used.

I totally love it Charlie.  Your programme supplied the watercolour paper effect too?

You can either scan watercolor paper into your computer or you can find samples of watercolor paper on the internet.  I've done both.  Also, in some of the digital classes that I've taken, different watercolor paper was provided.

...thanks a bunch Charlie; I hadn't considered scanning the paper - so obvious really!
