Any report of progress with your tablets? I couldn't work without it!
I am considering purchasing the wacom tablet please keep me informed of a review or recommendation
Thank you for the info on wacom tablets.
Personally I love my WACOM tablet (medium sized Bamboo Fun model). To me it's just so much easier...using a "pen" stylus instead of a "puck" (mouse that comes with it). My hand is too shaky to use a puck. It's pretty much up to personal preference whether or not to use a tablet, but I have been recommending them.
I find Bamboo might be easiest to use but for more "bang" for your buck, Intuos 3, 4 or 5 models are professional grade. Much more "sensitive" to the angle/pressure of a puck or stylus pen. Out of my price range though. Maybe someday...I'm hardly professional. ^^; (playing video games kinda helped me with eye-hand coordination)
I have Intuos on my wish list for when my ship comes in!!! lol. I would not try to draw with a mouse, the pen is a much more natural way. It only takes a few projects for you to get the hang of it. Try doodling with it- you will see how it works and what is comfortable for you!
This is such an old post, I wish more people posted in the digital art forum. But I'm starting to get use to my tablet even after 3 years of using it. I think it's good to take a picture and try to just paint it carelessly. It's okay to be sloppy, but when you get all the general colors/lights/shadows in the correct place to where you can tell what the picture is, you can slowly start to define it more and more.
Hope you decide to try it out!
