Jambo(Hello in swahili) friends of Art Colony,
I am Sandi your Game Guide and we will be heading out on a Wild African Safari, where you will meet the Birmingham Coalition of Lions, Thandi the leopard and her cub Tlalamba and many other wonderful animals of Juma in Southern Africa.
Only one two cautions. Do not hang your feet outside this jeep and absolutely no swimming in the dams.
We will also be travelling to Maasai Mara and enjoying the migrations and animals, the Cheetas and and plethora of other Wild and wonderful animals.
All you need to bring on this Safari, is your paints, pens, pencils, pastels, brushes, scrap metal, digital and a lot of Mosquito spray.
A little inspiration for your journey( you may use the snapshots, they are my own), you will meet Thandi and her cub. This was taken in January 2018.
So to start the Safari, we will be going by the Dam where I am sure we will see, Hippos, Elephants, Giraffe and Big cats.
So this Safari is not doing so well, but I did notice on my way to the waterhole that there was some wild dogs or otherwise known as painted dogs lying in the grasses with fat full bellies. They are struggling to sleep today, because they so full and also the hippos are not at all happy with their presence and constantly grumbling at the dogs. The hippos sound like motorbikes when they get going. Here is what a wild dog looks like . I do hope you will join in and have a go at painting or drawing one for your collection.
I did this quick scribble after seeing a trophy hunter proudly showing of the three lions that he'd just shot. I think lions should be given a free pass on any trophy hunter . They drug the lions release them into a small enclosure where the shooters are compleatly protected and they call it sport. in some cases the shooter is so bad they even tie there target animal down . the great white hunters can only with luck hit a target that doesn't move, not that they deserve the title hunter when they're put on a firing platform and the poor animals are shoved in front of them.
He is lovely Mary, is that a mountain lion or cougar? He looks like he means business. Great patterns and shapes on his face.
Paul I so love your picture and I agree if those trophy hunters get bitten, the rangers should let the lions enjoy the feast.
Thanks for clarifying that Mary. I saw a story about two people that went into mountainous walking route, but they went on their bikes . If I remember some man stole their one bike and one of the girls got attacked by the cougar. Her friend never left her and basically saved her life.
Thanks for comment on my elephants and wild dog Mary. Much appreciated
So we Sitting at dam watching the lions in the grass. Most of them are sleeping and coined 'flat cats' as lions sleep for 20 hours a day.
We also have the hippos grunted as they are not at all happy as a herd of elephants has decided they wasn't to swim and play and the hippos do find that at all amusing. Just look at her she is baring teeth as she opens her mouth so wide.
But baby elephant is not too bothered as he is having so much fun
Hearing the elephants trumpeting away perhaps giving danger calls my big round eyes zooom into a knob thorn tree, where a beautiful leopard lies staring at me with his big green eyes and his lips salivating for my tasty rump . I get a cold chill down my spine and thinks it is a good time to buck out of here. Definitely do not want to shredded veal.
