Hello everyone. I've been meaning to be part of this group for sometime.  Finally I have started doing some urban sketching.  My sketches are done partly on site and usually finished inside in watercolours.

I look forward to sharing and welcome any comments and feedback. And I look forward to seeing more sketches.

Nice job Pauline. I like the subject matter. I always find buildings fun to sketch.

Hi Jackie, thank you.  We just moved to the UK and I'm in love with all the different time periods of architecture.   I hope to do lots more.  Sketching buildings is helping me to learn more about perspective by just 'doing it'.  I usually sketch in pencil, then put pen on top and then the watercolour.  I'd love to see some of your buildngs.

Your are welcome Pauline.

I am new to sketching and don't have much experience. So I don't have many stretches of buildings.  But that will change. When I go to different parts of the country, I love to look at the architecture of the area. Each place is different. My perspective drawing is weak. I am working on changing that with practice. There are some steps near my house that I want to sketch, When I do, I will share it with you.

My children attended university in England and had a wonderful time. I hope you do to.

Keep up the good work.

Thank you for sharing your urban watercolor sketches with us, Pauline! They're beautiful. I love these kinds of sketches. They can really capture the essence of a place in a way that photographs can't. Your sketches are inspiring. I wish I had more time to do sketches like this. The UK would be a great place to sketch buildings... so much historical architecture there!

Thank you Jackie.  Looking at buildings etc is a really good approach even if you don't draw them.  Sometimes I sit and look and sort of draw them in my mind, if tht makes sense.  haha..There is a time for everything.  I find that the first step is always the hardest.  Pauline

Hi Thaneeya, thank you..   I hope to do more. They are time consuming,  I get lost in them the time just flies by.  I hope your business is going well.  Pauline

Hi Sharon. I'm hoping to do some more. We are currently in Lisbon, but there are so many things to do and see and just to explore I haven't be able to settle myself to doing some urban sketching.  We are here a few more weeks so I'm sure I will do lots.  The weather is perfect for sketching and so many interesting buildings, it is hard to know which way to look lol.

Here are a few more urban sketches.  I hope you like them.

I've put this image on twice, I'm not sure how to delete it. Help please...
