Today I decided to find the garden although its only very small rusty was beginning to disappear in the long grass. He wasn't helping because he wants to attack the strimmer. I dug up a few weeds and buried a few plants and then rusty helped me by digging some up again

Talking of lost gardens.  Many years ago I would be about 10 and we had moved house.  Mum and me went exploring the local area and stumbled upon an abandoned garden.  It was beautiful although overgrown and the scent of the old roses was beautiful.  I recall poppies, buddlia etc.,  We discovered later that it once belonged to the gamekeeper of the local estate.  The walls of his home were still there.  It was a magical sort of place.  I love the expression on Rusty's face as he digs up you plants.

Thanks Dorothy  I picked up some more plants for rusty to did up. There seem to be many lost gardens during and after the wars , many people  went to war and either didn't  return or during their time away found that there was a totally different world out there that they never knew about and didn't  want  to return to their old leaving thes HIDDEN gems.

My great grandparents  had a a small weekend  place on canvey island  after the flood that killed over 50 people many never return to their homes and  i can remember  that there were many abandoned cottages and gardens on the island
