through the trees
a path
almost
unseen

step through
the plants
the weeds
then mud
imprints
of gentle feet
a vestige placed
a moment passed
the path
a step beyond

winding through
wild grown things
waking trees
new with leaves
hawks above
they see
what I can not
but on and on
and on
to walk

through thorny plants
coil and twist
far worse than wire
barbed
tears my skin
and clothes
another step
again
again
pulls me on
and in

approach
so close
but never reach
the edge
almost
but never really
understand

A lovely dialogue and descriptive in verse of her journey and approach to what appears before her the new  thorny plants and barbed wire, relentless she wanders on despite the challenges which befall on the way. Lovely work Cindy!
