This is an oil I just finished 30" x 30" x 2" deep. I collect old photos from right around the Civil War to the 1950's and the reference photo for this one just captured my artist's soul. I wanted to keep it a bit on the loose side which was challenge for me because of the car with it's hard line structure. None the less am happy with the outcome...I do all my work free hand, just starting with paint on the brush on a toned canvas so sometimes I skew parts! I doesn't photo well...the culprits being my poor photography skills and the size ratio. Making up foe some lost studio time after this total knee replacement!

Not only a great painting, but also a great study in values, great work.

Thank you Glen, I always think tonal range/values are the heart of the work, color sometimes distracts me too much! jean

This is great Jean, you've succeeded in your goal of keeping it loose and it has excellent tone.

My wife is having her 2nd knee replacement soon so I can feel for your loss of movement... even for a season.
