Thanks for the great comments.

Hi again Nelson, I've missed you and so many others including those who commented. I got hacked so badly on yahoo and couldn't get hooked up on TAC until today with gmail. I'm not very good with gmail, but getting better. I can't get all my contacts, emails and folders transferred, but I think that's just me.

As far as "Jolly", I made the tree, Santa, presents from clay. The box is hinged. I glued it open, decoupaged, and decorated all to cover up corners, etc. I made the tree skirt with a bit of Christmas fabric and stiffened it with Mod Podge. The icicle looking stuff is fabric puffy paint Crystal gel. Snow is white fabric paint. Did purchase the fireplace, but made the fire with an internet pic and Dimensional Magic. Bought the dog, the rug, fire utensils, wood crate. Wood is just broken twigs. I used wood samples from Home Depot for front box extensions. Wrapped holly around the fireplace. Stockings are stickers I highlighted some. There is actually a candlestick and holder on top of the fireplace with some holly, but it's hard to see. "PEACE" is a mini ornament. Chimney is mini flower pot, painted to look festive, but "sooty". All the corners are decorated with beads, sequins, etc. to bring it all together. The hardest part was adding the LED lights to the holly garland and then attaching that to the whole structure. It was worth it. My grand daughter loved it, as well as the rest of her family.

I have a few more things to put on here, but will wait until I have a few free minutes. I'm in Cincinnati after the birth of my grand son, Grady Joseph and Macey will be 3 the end of April. What a delight they are. I am able to help and that makes me feel super happy. Macey and I have done a few projects ourselves.

Oops! The two bigger stocking are stickers and the two smaller I made from clay, painted and embellished them.

Thats still alot of work creating so many items Cathey....thats why it helps using store bought items too and giving them your magic touch to add to the overall charm of these creations....

I figure I put approximately 50-60 hours into it, at least. I never pay attention. The detail, on everything was extreme and time consuming. The clay Santa, tree and presents took tons of time. It all did. But, then, how many hours do you put into your pieces? The perfection you expect. When do you feel it is really a finished work of art? How critical are you of your own talent? All these things I know you experience.

My only negative feeling about "Jolly"...Santa's face is weird, but not being an artist as such, it was a bit difficult although, I got the color okay.

Those I'm inspired to create for, love the "things", "gifts" and some realize the work involved. All know they are made with love. But, it's the details that are so much fun to talk about. I bet you'd like to talk about this color, stroke, medium you used to get one small increment complete. It's just between you and your work.

Whatever the case, art in all it's forms, is a beautiful expression of who we are, especially "inside".
