The Orchid - Pastel study of my beautiful wife (much younger then) for future painting

This was done as a pastel study for a future painting. It was taken from a photo I took of my beautiful wife the morning after a Supper dance. She is holding the orchid corsage she wore. There has been quite a bit of interpretation of the background to look a bit more romantic than the sideboard inside the house that she was gracing. The painting is still in the pipeline many years later.
