My first impression David is 'WOW', what a talent you have for realism. When i look closer and study your painting(s) they have real atmosphere and a 'story', I can almost imagine myself in the signal masters office in this one having a conversation and feel the cold outside. Thankyou for sharing.

Thanks Jane, you may like to know the "story" in this one had a very happy ending when someone saw it and bought it as a present for one of the last signalmen who manned this cabin, (prior to its demolition in the early 1970's), and who is not now in the best of health. Apparently it hangs above his fireplace and brings back wonderful memories for him.

What a lovely, lovely story of the picture David, isn't it humbling to know how much joy and happy memories a painting you have produced can give to another fellow human. Thankyou for sharing.

It has so much feeling. I feel like I am there and can smell the train's smoke!

Love this painting David.  My dad was a loco driver with LMS for 40 years and this paining takes me right back to when I awoke to the sound of a steam loco and fell asleep to the same.  The detail is just superb in fact I cannot find a word good enough to use.  Just wonderful work.   How long does it usually take you to paint such a picture.

Thanks Dorothy most of my paintings take about 80 hours
