Going Larger for the first time

I have been making little paintings. Acrylics. Studies. Usually on 9 x 12 inch canvas paper -- and that I often cut in half to be conservative. Well, I made a painting recently -- I think I used the full 9x12inch sheet, painting is named  "All Is Well." I liked it and I got some good feedback and decided to make a large version of it. I thought I might be bored to tears -- to remake a painting I already 'finished.' Well, so far so good. I did not chart it out, nor create a paint-by-numbers…

Thinking about Metatron's Cube

I saw some artwork the other day on Facebook by an artist I admire and he talked about working on the Metatron's Cube in a background he was doing. So I'm looking and looking and I don't see this cube he's referenced in the piece. And then I think I don't know what this Metatron's Cube is. Let me try out this blog thing. I am a new colonist. So I saw on Art Colony that the Challenge of the Month was angels. I thought 'well, I am not doing any angels.' Then I went downstairs to play with my paints. I had been wanting to work on clouds.
