Welcome to my page on Art Colony. I'm very happy to have found this site and look forward to interacting with some of you and being inspired by all of you!
A little bit about me. I wasn't always interested in art nor did I do much art growing up. But in 2001 one of my family members received a frightening medical diagnosis. I felt as if I was drowning and just needed something. I knew I enjoyed the computer and the low end graphics program I had. I heard a radio commercial for a graphics program at a local technical college. ( only heard the commercial once, never again ) The commercial said if you enjoy the computer and like art, come check out their program. I did and it was in this fine program I learned I could draw. I was blown away by this discovery and feel as if it was a gift given to me to help. And it surely has.
These days I am in a small studio a block away from the river, a very lovely place to work with the only noise coming from the rumble of school buses through the neighborhood. I constructed a website, with portfolio, blog and news sections which I hope you will visit!
My next goal is establishing a shop on Zazzle.com. This is definitely a learning process and admittedly I am taking my time.
I am the proud Mother of two sons. One is working for the Democratic Party in Wisconsin and one is finishing his degree at The University of Kansas. I have six cats which totally keep me entertained. Outside of my art I enjoy reading, travel and spending way too much time on Twitter. I have one belief that keeps me grounded. It is- that creativity leads, it does not follow. A gift that I'll never take for granted.
