I started rock painting in early 2007 and discovered that it was the perfect artistic endeavor for me. I thought the area of Colorado that I relocated to looked like the moon because of its rocky landscape. (Many homeowners use rocks instead of grass to landscape their yards.) An abundance of paintable rocks, availability of a great craft supply store, and an inspiring view of Pikes Peak led me to try my hand at rock painting.
In mid-2006, my mother entered a nursing home in another state. To show that I was thinking of her, every month I sent a little painted stone to brighten her day. I then discovered my mission: I wanted my rocks to warm hearts and bring smiles to faces. You can read about my mother and her rocks on my blog:
