"Go to our local supermarket early on and you can see lots of young ladies still in their night attire.  My Mum would have gone ballistic with me - say no more.  I never thought of poachers pockets!  I like the woman in the middle,…"

"Yes that steelworks has closed now but as you say it gave employment to a lot of folk men and women.  I am going to be on BBC Scotland talking about my days's in Ravencraig.  Don't know if you can pick it up where you are. …"

"There is a photograph of workers sitting on a girder half-way up a skyscraper.  I have vertigo even looking at the photograph.   Yes we call them steel erectors.   I am sure your husband was thrilled with his gift. …"

"Beautiful painting of the sleeping cat.  I caught my breath when I first saw it as he is so like my little Mac who we had to say goodbye to in June of last year.    I do admire your patience but it has paid off for you.  "

Hi Dorothy

Thanks so much my friend for the comments on my landscape scene. Yes I agree as I painted this scene I could almost here the trickle of water and the sounds of nature.

Have a great week and thanks again.

There appears to be four used in the uk ..

British Sign Language (BSL)

Sign Supported English  (sse )

Social haptic communication

Some are better for people who are visually  impaired as well as deaf.

In all the are about 300 different sign  language  so it must make it very hard for a deaf person to move about the world  because they need to learn both the local language as well as the locally used  sign language  so i will definitely  stick To the  flag waving  that they taught at the boys brigade  back in the 1960s or use whatsapp

Best wishes paul

Thanks Dorothy  my daughter can sign a bit but from what she said there are several version of signing used in the uk and different groups don't  want to standardise . Also having a group of people sitting about chatting by waving those little sandcastle flags makes a much more fun scribble.
