"My brother in law used to have an Alaskan Malamute that would lay outside all day as the snow came down until it resembled a snowman and then proceed to get up and shake the snow off. LOL  He was about 150 pounds I think .....plus 10 pounds of…"

thanks john those dogs are certainly made for the cold , there are a lot of people buying them over here and I'm not sure if that's right considering how warm it can get.

my woody  loved rolling about in the frost and snow he'd make his version of snow Angel a terrier cross and weighed about 40lb. he was a short haired dog with no thick undercoat. he just loved the cold   where one of the fields flooded with about 6 inches of water he lived breaking through the ice and splashi g about in the water

Thanks John for the encouraging comments!  Your portrait works are simply top notch!  Ultra realistic in style, which is something I envy.   And it looks like you use a variety of media?  I figure dry brush oil is a mainstay, right?
