As for my basketwork it has been a long time coming and I'm actually selling now so things are coming along. As for the art piece that I ruined, I ran out of my workable fixative and started using the final fixative. It got gloopy and nasty so I tried using acetone to correct it, it only made it worse. So then I tried to send it off knowing piece was ruined already anyway. And it just finished it off and ruined it. The veneer is very thin and I send it off all the wood grain so not only is the art piece ruined but so is the piece of wood. It's all been a learning curve and I learned a lot with that piece, a lot about what NOT to do.

Well I finished my latest Pine needle basket.  It turned out very nice if I do say so myself.  My friend asked for a 'fruit bowl' size basket so she could put fruit on her table in the kitchen.  I used a piece of a pine tree limb that I sliced and drilled holes in for the center start piece, royal blue and myrtle green #10 mercerized cotton doubled to sew it with.  I even made a wrapped coil in royal blue as the top edge.  It is 8 in. across and 4 in. deep.  I know she is gonna love…
