Hi Patrick, thank you for liking my pic. I try to do some kind of art every day....but I have had those same feelings that I need to rest a bit. I did take some time off to get my motivation back and it helped. Maybe take a break, it can't hurt. Your work is amazing.Good luck! Let me know if you ever want to talk. Just don't give it up!!
If your work was up in a gallery, it would be a sin to simply just walk past without staring. Your approach is quite unique, it's like a still life that moves. Looks even more amazing with the music I am listening to right now, hahah special effects! Seriously, striking work Patrick. Love the painting of the girl running the tuckshop; definitely hits home for me. I thank you actually.
Hi Pat, yes I have used sanded paper, have to say - it is perfect for pastels, but if you paint by fingers, you will need good gloves - to protect your fingers, I have usually problem with it :o)))). If you see my gallery on www.ivetaautratova.com, there is written when I used the paper :o))). I am happy you try different things, you have a great talent!!! Have a lovely day, happy New Year my frined!!!!!!!
Thanks Pat, you are so kind!!! Yes I do oil too, but not too often. I love both medias, both has sometnihg great :o))), pastel is very gentle and you dont have to wait for drying, oil is very different and also beautiful :o)))), you cannot cover the art by glass :o)). I use pastel pencils too for details :o)).
You do beautiful art, continue my friend!!!!! Happy New Year, happy time for you :o))!!!
hi again Patrick if you look at the side you'll see lots more from Colin Bradley I found his tips etc a great help when I started with pastels. Like you I'm self taught & have learnt from books, DVDs online links, etc -- amazing what you can find online !! In the end though I think you find your own way of doing things & what works for you.Yes I layer colours watch Colin Bradleys videos on YouTube I'm sure there'll help you. Lyn x
