Dear Skylar,

I am so sorry I haven’t sent your snow white atc yet. I promised it is coming.

I have been out of town caring for my mama since the Monday before Mother’s day.  She died 6-29-13 but I didn’t return home until this past Saturday…It has been very hard but I promise you will receive your flower art soon. I hope this is o.k.

I am sorry I waited so long to let you know but I just haven’t had the heart to get on here.  I am finally going to get back to posting what I have received and sending my projects out on time.

Sincerely, Beth

PS. I live in Jemison AL..10 mi. n of clanton!

Thank you so much Skylar - I've tried the full range of mediums, but always end up coming back to the coloured pencils - they are my absolute favourite!!! :)

Skylar...In answer to selling your work, try joining an art association or a group that displays art on weekends or shows or galleries. This will get you started and possibly develope a following. I was in 2 in S. California many years ago. After about a year, I kept seeing the same people observe my work and developed a following. That felt GREAT. It wasn't long before I started working on commission and did that for the next 25 years. You need exposure. Get your work out there and be PATIENT.

Hey, I'm sorry for getting back to you so late, but I just saw your question on my page a few moments ago! You asked about painting in coffee- well, it's exactly what it sounds like! I used coffee as a substitute for paint, but I prefer to think of it more as a stain. Different methods of preparing the coffee lead to different tones of it in the end, you can see some variation through my work. Painting with coffee was pretty tricky to get used to, but very rewarding in the end. I just had to find the right technique. Thanks for asking! :)

Vincent Van Gogh

Where to begin, where to begin.

"A Starry NIght" makes my stomach hurt. It is so gut-wrenching beautiful, that I get a little choked up every time I see it.I wish I could go back, just to give Mr. Van Gogh a hug. I love him, his work, and his personality. I got a book for my second anniversary with my boyfriend. It was Van Gogh's letters. I ate them up. I can relate on so many levels with him. He just overwhelms me. People ask "Who is your favorite…

Soooo Tomorrow, Is the first art guild meeting! I am so excited and nervous. What if they hate my work? What if they are art snobs? What if they are rude? What if it is like a sorority? What will happen?

I am so excited and nervous.

Wish me luck!

My Soap Box

Hello all!

Well, I am about to get back on my soapbox so hold on for the ride!

I am discussing people who steal art. I am not talking about copying it and making it your own. That's weird, but it is how you learn. I am talking about people who STRAIGHT up steal your art work. Like, going on a website, saving it to your computer and slapping a watermark on it.…

As of right now, I feel bad about my art. I feel as if it is boring and doesn't stand out. Art is meant to push buttons. Mine art is just like eh, there's a button, I'm going to go bake a cake. I feel like ANARCHY today. I know my art is trying to be someone I am not. It is trying to please others and that is just not right. It is time to flourish! My art is happy and colorful. Or portraiture. Don't get me wrong, portraits are great. I am just ready to get my Pollock on, or My Rothko. I am…
