This is for me

I have always loved being creative and since a small child have moved from one project to the next with great enthusiasm.  Now that my children are all grown up, I now have more time on my hands and find that I ache to just be able to express myself through my artwork.

I have neglected this part of my life lately and constantly felt like something was missing no matter how happy I was feeling.  My very supportive husband decided to give me a kick in the rear end to get me back on…

I did what I said I would do, I drew everything from landscapes to portraits to comics and cartooning. I did end up writing more than expected, but I did get my name on the IMBD database with a movie I wrote the screenplay for! I was told by a comic company to give up my dream of drawing for comics, that my writing was so strong I could pretty much write for anyone. That writing was just as important as drawing in the industry and they already have plenty of artists who are much better than…

Profile Description

Greetings Art Colony Members,

On October 23, 2010, I gave myself a birthday/ retirement gift of a beginners’ drawing class.  I used this class to help me to get over retirement and I’d hoped to learn the basics of drawing.  Over the next year and a half, the women there gave me unconditional support and through trial and error I taught myself to…

Happy Holidays!

I haven't had time to be around here much lately, and I really miss all of you!  I hope all of you are happy and well, to those of you who celebrate holidays this time of year I wish you Season's Greetings!

Since the year is almost over, I've been thinking about my resolutions for the new year.  One of them is to renew my passion for art.  Actually, the passion is still there, I just need to adjust my priorities a bit.  Next year, I want to spend more time making art, and more time…

I should be writing :)

My first oil painting is underway. I love the texture, and my technique will hopefully improve with practice, but the cleaning...oh, well. Although I have two stories that I need to finish writing, since they are both on a deadline, and yet the call to paint had been too hard to resist. Umm...I think I should start writing comic books, more pictures, less words. :)

Bay St. Louis

It was a cold week end in Mississippi. I worked my Sunday at Gallery 220. The place stayed busy all day long so the time went by really fast. People were buying paintings (not mine), ear rings, and necklaces. This week lots of very large art work sold. One man bought 5 paintings 2 foot x 3 foot and some much bigger. Right before he walked out he turned around and bought 4 - 8 x 10s. It was great.

Looking forward to mine paintings selling like that.

Ya'll have a n art day.
