Out of Action.........................

Wow, I am just catching up on all the wonderful postings for swaps.  I have not been online for a fortnight as I visited my daughter in Launceston, Tasmania and unfortunately I left home with asthma and a cold virus, which went to severe bronchitis, while in Tassie.  I am home again and finally beginning to feel 85% well again, it was horrid.  I hope everyone else is fit and well out there in TAC and…

Life

Well life, the reality of life, has taken over my artistic freedom and of late I have none.  It has been hectic.  I have been facilitating a number of art therapy workshops (which is great) and the preparation has involved all of my free time.  But...these workshops are easing with Christmas on the horizon and the summer holidays here in Aus when life begins a slower pace while universities and school are closed.  Roads become quieter and as the weather heats up people stop inside with…

Dyeing Naturally

Today I visited a friend and we did some natural dyeing using eucalyptus leaves and red cabbage with wool, silk and cotton (dipped in soy milk) material.  It was such fun and we have to wait to see the results.  I also did some embroidery on a dyed gumleaf piece my friend had created, I love embroidery and have not stitched for ages.

Mandala

It is Thursday and that means mandala class for 3 hours this morning which is such a highlight or my week, hooray.  I am presently working on a vibrant and whimsical one which I began last week, something new for me.  I am finding myself using a lot of orange in my mandalas recently, I wonder what that means?  It is 8.30am on Thursday 30th May here in Glen Waverley, Victoria, Australia.  Better go and get ready or I will be late to class, lol.

So proud of me as I have just finished creating my very first artist trading card in acrylic paints on a mount board base.  When I can I will post an image of it.

Studio Tidy Up

I finally started on my studio tidy-up today and it feels so good!  I have room and space and although I am still working on it it is wonderful.

Friends who share the same interests in art.

Had a lovely day today catching up with 2 friends who share the same interest in art and craft and who I met when doing my Diploma in Transpersonal  Art Therapy in 2007-2008.  They both love to dabble in lots of different mediums.  One loves mandalas like I do and the other one is into painting and sculpture.  No work done cleaning and tidying my studio.  It is 8pm on Sunday 26th May 2013, Aussie time.

Motivation

I just lost my blog post......I was discussing my lack of motivation and wondering how I can get my mojo back to be creative at home.

Me

I need to tidy my studio space which is a small bedroom in my home.  Then perhaps I can get creative which is what  I so need to do.

Me

I am an Art Therapist and work casually for organisations who have funding to run workshops for carer's who look after someone with a disability/mental illness /aged/ dementia/etc.  At the moment work is non-existent and I have time to do my own art but I am not using it well.  It is so great to have a space to write this down, thanks Art Colony.
