I know, I know, I have been MIA. Things have gotten busy, but I finally forced some time to play with my oils. I used the last canvas I had and so now I am in search of new ones. Normally I go to the Blick outlet and buy the ones that have slight damage as I never really expect or plan to sell a piece, but I am wondering what it would be like to paint on rolled canvas and just frame it as I would a normal picture-minus the glass. I just do not know how my H frame easel would handle that sort of thing, or if I would be forced to paint on the (gasp) floor! I guess I will do some research and see what my options are. What do you guys normally do for your paintings?

I also let me kids do some paintings (they are older 11 and 16) my 16 year old I think may have a talent but she really dislikes art and doing it, but her painting was pretty cool, everyone was in awe with her "talent". I shall post the pictures. My 11 year old was very technical in her art not so much imaginative just over thought everything and the end result showed we think.

So here are pictures of the works.

I use canvas paper a lot for paintings 'cause it's inexpensive - and I can frame it or mount it on wood or something for hanging. I tape (blue painters tape all the way around) it to cardboard for setting on the easel, I'd expect you could do the same with rolled canvas.

Thanks Amelia! I plan to shop pretty soon (after vacation) and see what I can find.
